Microsoft presented Surface Pro 2 with Haswell processor and new base

Microsoft announced Surface Pro 2, the new version of flag 10,6" Windows Tablet. As we see, the outside changes are really negligible – device has the same size, weight and color. But company representatives assure that even if their product outer face is unchanged, the performance capabilities have changed greatly.

Panos Panay, the vice president of Microsoft, announced: “We improved the performance by 20%. When earlier the device worked quickly, now it has lightning speed!” Panay is sure that the tablet became faster than 95% of laptops and its graphical performance was increased by 50%. The updated tablet got Haswell, one of the Intel Core i5 processors. Besides, the device got new battery which is by 60% better than previous one.

Creators of the new tablet version tried to solve one of the main claims of users – it was uncomfortable to use the original tablet, i.e. to put it on knees. Now the device has second standing – 55% upward turn. Panay assures that Surface Pro 2 works quietly and has effective cooling.

The Surface Pro 2 buyers will get some Microsoft services including free Skype calls to phones and 200 GB SkyDrive for data saving for 2 year period. Also Microsoft thought over the connection opportunities of other devices to their tablets. Surface Pro 2 has USB port to attach mouse/keyboard and Mini DisplayPort to add outer display.
